Festival News:Enjoy the sunny weather! Come to the Green

The New Haven Green is the place to be this weekend as Village of Villages opens once again from 1 to 5 p.m. today and Sunday. From dance to gospel singing, hip hop to martial arts demonstrations, we have it all, on multiple stages on the Upper Green. Don’t miss these special attractions:
Quick Start Tennis — Join the New Haven Parks and Recreation department and Pilot Pen Tennis for a QuickStart tennis clinic — the best way for youngsters to get in the swing of things quickly! Lessons begin at 1 p.m. and continue until 4:30 pm.
Fine Craft Vending — Something new at the Festival this year! Fine craft vendors will display and sell their wares on Temple Street from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Come check them out!
Toyota Mobile Hybrid Experience — Take a tour of the big blue truck at the end of the Lower Green. It’s an interactive display that’s a fun, educational look at hyrbid technologies and alternative fuels. Win prizes, help plant a tree, and check out the vehicles on display, courtesy of A-1 Toyota on the New Haven/Woodbridge line.
Tonight at 8 p.m. – Don’t Miss East Village Opera Company — It’s opera with a rock twist. Time Out New York says they “electrify the classics for a new generation.” Bring a picnic basket, or visit one of our many food vendors and enjoy the show! Come to the Green today and tomorrow.
