Bassekou Kouyate & Ngoni Ba

DURATION 90 minutes
LOCATION Yale Law School Courtyard, 127 Wall Street

Bassekou Kouyate and his sensational group perform their captivating music on four ngoni (West African lutes) - the key instrument of the griot culture of Mali – as well as percussion (shekere and calabash.) Drawing upon his roots in the Bambara music from the banks of the Niger River, Bassekou and his band lift your mind and soul at the same time - warming your heart and making you shake your hips.
