Farmington Canal Greenway & Sleeping Giant
Leave New Haven for a visit to one of the area's most distinctive landmarks, Sleeping Giant State Park. The ride will travel through the historic Science Park neighborhood and along the Farmington Canal Rail-Trail to the park, where riders will have the choice between riding around the Giant and through a hilltop apple orchard or returning on the flatter rail trail. This low-traffic option is suitable for families and children.
The best way to see
has a vibrant cycling community, and throughout the Festival volunteers from Elm City Cycling will lead tours of the city and surrounding communities. There are rides for all skill and experience levels. See the sights, learn more about history, and discover some of the exciting things happening in the area on these Bike Tours.
Bring a bike, spare tube to fit the wheel (mechanical assistance for minor repairs available), water, food, and sunscreen. Properly fit helmets are required.
