ARTIST SERVICES

Artist Services Coordinator

Artist Services Coordinators are the principle liaison between artists and the Festival. ASCs are each assigned several companies and will fulfill artist needs as well as communicate/coordinate artist needs with appropriate Festival departments including Production, Public Relations, Audience Services, and Hospitality.

Requirements: Theatrical Company Management or related experience required. Must have calm and efficient problem solving and multi-tasking abilities as well as excellent organizational and communication skills. ASCs must be “people-persons”, able to effectively communicate not only with artists from all over the world, but also with technicians and managers.

Hospitality Manager

The Hospitality Manager plans and implements all meal and food service needs for the artists and staff at the Festival. The job involves working with community partners to negotiate food donations and discounts, and fulfilling artist rider needs. The Hospitality Manager will manage a team of 2 – 3 assistants and/or interns, and will coordinate with Development, and Production as needs and opportunities overlap.

Requirements: The Hospitality Manager is a hybrid job. In the planning phase, the Hospitality Manager will need to be extremely organized and detail oriented to understand and organize the hospitality needs of the Festival. There is also a significant Development aspect of the job in coordinating as much donated food and flowers as possible. Later, the Hospitality Manger must be willing and able to roll up his/her sleeves and get venues set up and ready to go one minute, and pass champagne for an opening night toast the next. The Hospitality Manager should be competent with MS Office and should be able to lift 25 pounds and spend a good deal of time on his/her feet.

AUDIENCE SERVICES

House Managers

Provide on-site house management services at Festival indoor and outdoor events, overseeing all aspects of audience experience and safety, a team of volunteer ushers, and communications between front-of-house and backstage.

Requirements: Theatrical House Management experience required. Must be calm and pleasant under pressure; genuinely welcoming, and always mindful of the safety and comfort of patrons. Must have excellent customer service skills, and be comfortable managing crowds. Must have the ability to manage teams of volunteer ushers.

Ticket Sellers

Provide ticketing and other customer support services to Festival audience members, both in person, and by phone. Sell tickets on site at Festival performances and venues.

Requirements: Theatrical box office experience strongly preferred. Festival ticket sellers will work with OvationTix software to process ticket orders, and must have good to excellent computer skills. Must be calm and pleasant under pressure, and able to quickly and efficiently move patrons through the ticketing process, without compromising excellent, friendly customer service. Festival ticket sellers will be required to read and retain large amounts of information about Festival events and schedules, in order to answer customer questions.

MARKETING

Graphic Design Intern

Non-paid internship; course credit may be available
The Graphic Design Intern will assist with the planning, creation, and implementation of the Festival’s marketing activities, with particular focus on graphic design and production. The Graphic Design Intern will undertake various graphic design projects for Festival collateral, including the production of advertising materials,
collateral (posters, handouts, flyers, etc), signage (large and small scale), and Content and design of the program book.

Requirements: Ability to think creatively while also producing professional materials within established templates and brand guidelines. Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop & InDesign) in a Windows environment; Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities with efficiency and poise. Strong organizational and collaborative skills. Web design and content management skills a plus.

PRODUCTION & OPERATIONS

Operations Manager

Operations Manager is responsible for managing the master schedule of all non-technical needs of the Festival as a whole, and for the implementation thereof, including the safe and timely installation, strike, and storage of a broad array of infrastructure elements, equipment, and signage; and the distribution and retrieval of materials, collateral, and supplies. The Operations Coordinator will work with and supervise a crew of 3-4 people.

Requirements: Excellent organizational and scheduling abilities. Good communication and people-skills. Strong, mechanically inclined, able to safely lift 50 pounds. Must be over 25 with a clean driver’s license and be comfortable driving a cargo van and mid-sized box truck. Calm and efficient problem solving and multi-tasking abilities and a willingness to jump in, get dirty, and laugh about it later.

Outdoor Event Technical Director

The Outdoor Event Technical Director is responsible for construction and refurbishment of Festival scenery & properties, all outdoor scenic installations, and the day-to-day maintenance of all outdoor event elements. The Festival Tech Director will work with city officials and Parks Department employees to schedule services, and will supervise a team of 4-5 Festival crew members and carpenters.

Requirements: Must have good organizational and people skills, a full understanding of scenic construction and staging systems, and be familiar with safe working practices with tools and machinery. Prior experience as a theatrical carpenter required.

VIDEOGRAPHY

Video Interns

The Video Interns will assist the Festival Videographer in recording and editing video content, and preparing it for broadcast through multiple media, including preparing DVDs and uploading material to the Festival’s website and other commercial websites.

Requirements: Must have basic knowledge of video camera operation, ability to use Mac audio/video editing systems, and a basic understanding of most commonly used video uploading protocols
