General admission tickets to the solo piano concert by Philip Glass on Sunday June 13 are sold out. If you are a Festival Member, or want to become a Member, you can be put on a stand-by list, so that if any tickets are released back to the Festival Box Office, we will let you know by Noon on Thursday June 10. A few reserved, premium orchestra tickets are still available for $250 per seat. If you are interested in one of these options, please call the Festival at 203.498.3758.
And don't forget: there are several other ways to experience Philip Glass at the Festival:
- Opening Night: Dance - a collaboration between Philip Glass, choreographer Lucinda Childs, and conceptual artist Sol LeWitt. Joan Acocella of The New Yorker said of the Glass score that it “pours forth like a bag of jewels” and called Dance sumptuous and glamorous.
- Film: Dancing Across Borders - a documentary directed by Anne Bass, which includes footage of Sokvannara Sar dancing while Philip Glass plays piano at the Vail International Dance Festival.
- Ideas: Collaboration & Invention - A Conversation with Lucinda Childs & Philip Glass - Along with moderator Jock Reynolds, Mr. Glass and Ms. Childs will revisit their creative collaboration on the minimalist masterwork Dance.
