The Noon to Night Concert Series will continue as weather permits. In the event of lightning, the performance will be cancelled.

The Mill River Canoe Tours have been cancelled for today. Stay tuned for information on re-scheduling.

It is a beautiful day on the New Haven Green - all events will proceed as scheduled.

Read the Hartford Courant's review of Cripple of Inishmaan. The show performs Saturday June 18 at 3pm and 8pm and Sunday at 3pm.

The 6pm Noon to Night concert has been cancelled due to thunderstorms. Noon to Nights will resume on Tuesday June 21.

A Weekend at the New Haven Green

On Saturday morning I arrived at the New Haven Green. I took a seat on the bleachers close to College Street and saw myself surrounded by a whole city of early birds. Right on College, breakdancers and grafitti artists had been popping their creativity since earlier in the day. Dancers and rappers from all over Connecticut had been practicing their routines since nine a.m., hoping to win the big prize. Grafitti began being made at 10am and by noon, these amazing pieces of art could be seen from across the Green.

The Noon to Night Concerts at Noon, 3pm and 6pm will proceed as scheduled.

Tonight’s concert by Emeline Michel, originally scheduled to conclude the International Festival’s Courtyard Concert Series at the Yale Law School Courtyard, will be performed indoors instead at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street, at York Street) due to predicted weather conditions for this evening.

Discounted Arts & Ideas parking is available across the street from Yale Rep at the Chapel-York Garage (on York Street between Crown and Chapel Streets).

The unexpected weather last night forced a cancellation of the Courtyard Concert with Lionel Loueke . Ticket holders for that event may use their tickets for any upcoming Festival event or can exchange them for seating in the First Niagara Hospitality area on the New Haven Green for any of the upcoming weekend headline events. An announcement for tonight’s concert with Emeline...

Last week I went to the Baryshnikov Art Center to see the premiere performance of Susan Marshall and Company’s Adamantine, and the company has now traveled north to New Haven to bring the performance to us at Arts & Ideas, opening on Wednesday June 15.  For those not yet familiar with Susan Marshall, she is one of our greatest American contemporary dance artists, a Macarthur Fellowship recipient for her work in dance, and a frequent collaborator with musical greats such as Philip Glass, David Lang and Eighth Blackbird, to name just a few.  It’s a real honor to have Susan’s company with us at...
