Special Funds

The Festival is made possible through donations. In addition to supporting the Festival’s general operations, you can also choose to participate in a variety of special funding opportunities that give you the ability to direct your support to a part of the Festival that is most meaningful to you.

If you would like to support a special fund at the Festival, please contact Bobby DellaCamera at 203.498.3727 or bdellacamera@artidea.org

The Jean Handley Fund

The Jean Handley Fund was established in 2010 in honor of one of the Festival's co-founders, Jean M. Handley, and supports programs that represent Jean’s values and passions. Jean was a person of extraordinary wisdom and exceedingly high standards who was generous with her time and talents. Over the years this Fund has supported many different programs at the Festival, including community-based programming, free performances on the New Haven Green, family-focused programs, and US Premieres. In 2024, the Jean Handley Fund supports our presentation of CONTRA-TIEMPO’s “¡Azúcar!” Proceeds from our annual Visionary Leadership Event (VLE) support the Jean Handley Fund.

THE TOM AND LIZ SERIOUS FUN(D)

The Tom and Liz Serious Fun(d) was created in honor of Tom Griggs and Liz Fisher, former Co-Directors of the Festival, for their leadership and passion for the Festival and its mission. Funds raised through the Serious Fun(d) support special projects and performances that enhance the guest experience at the Festival. The Serious Fun(d) has supported a variety of Festival programming since its creation, including Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, the Arts & Ideas Family Series, and Angélique Kidjo performing with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra. In 2024, the Serious Fun(d) honors Liz Fisher’s fabled circus career by supporting the return of circus programming to the Festival!
