Amid the pandemic, The Festival Fellows participated in the Babel Film Workshop global stay-at-home filmmaking initiative, Film Stylo. Their films, made as part of the initiative, are featured here and on the Film Stylo international archive of student films documenting their lives during this historical time. Below is Kayla's Film Stylo project.
Kayla Pierre
Kayla (she/her) is a 16-year-old student who will be attending New Haven Academy for her 11th and 12th-grade year. Her parents are both from Trinidad and she was born in Florida. She is a Volleyball player and wants to continue playing when she gets to college. She wants to go to college to study Law and Psychology and wants to be a lawyer and business owner when she gets older. Throughout her experience in the Fellow’s program, she learned how to tap into her more creative side again. Her favorite color is blue and she loves to listen to any kind of music. Something that motivates her is her brother because she aspires to be just as successful as him.
