Unidad Latina en Acción (ULA) will celebrate the Hispanic culture by the performing of Mariachi musicians from the group Mariachi Nuevo Son; and the “Culturas del Pasado, Voces del Presente” (Cultures of the Past, Voices of the Present), a group of elder women from Tlaxcala, Mexico, who will share their Mexican and indigenous traditions. They persevere in the face of unfair border policies that force their children and grandchildren to migrate and leave behind their families, language, and culture.
