Amid the pandemic, The Festival Fellows participated in the Babel Film Workshop global stay-at-home filmmaking initiative, Film Stylo. Their films, made as part of the initiative, are featured here and on the Film Stylo international archive of student films documenting their lives during this historical time. Below is Tashy's Film Stylo project.
Tayshalee Hernandez
Tayshalee (she/her) is a junior at Wilbur Cross High School who is 17 years old. In her free time she loves to sing, paint, make homemade presents, and help others. She has learned to be more open-minded and think more outside the box with the Arts and Ideas Fellowship program. She loves the class because it is fun and interesting but at the same time, while also having fun, she has learned a lot. Her favorite color is light purple because it represents romantic and nostalgic feelings, her favorite song is Listen by Beyoncé. She likes the arts because it expresses her feelings in a unique way when there aren’t words to express how she’s feeling. Her town hall topic is about youth empowerment and immigration.
