Can star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet put a stop to inner city gun violence? Anything is possible when the youth group stars of the Elm Shakespeare Company tackle Shakespeare’s classic tragedy with the help of Ice the Beef, a Connecticut nonprofit committed to gun violence prevention through education, creative expression and amplifying community voices. With a focus on cultural diversity and accessibility, Elm has been breathing new life into timeless stories for the Greater New Haven community since 1995. Combined with the peacemakers of Ice the Beef, their Shakespeare production is about to take on a whole new meaning. Where(fore) art thou, if not in attendance?
