Presented in Partnership with The Legacy Theatre and part of the Gordon Geballe Environmental Series
In this interactive show, +ERBA invites children from the audience to join two dancers on stage to create an imaginary city. One dancer builds the houses and streets, while the other creates the insects, grass, and trees. Children from the audience help color and populate the city. The newborn city becomes a living environment as new characters and events are added. Dancers and audience members share the stage in this cross-collaboration of art and play.

Compagnia de’ Colombari’s KING LEAR, adapted and directed by Karin Coonrod, is a raw, primal, and potent “paper crown” Lear that strips down the Shakespearian classic to its essence. An ensemble of ten actors ranging in age and gender all embody King Lear at the beginning.

Tour of the Humanities Quadrangle
Take a guided tour of the Humanities Quadrangle at Yale. The newly renovated 14-story building, formerly known as the Hall of Graduate Studies, recently began a new era for the Humanities at Yale. Renovations included the restoration of the historic painted plaster ceiling located in the common room of the former McDougal Center and a new lower level, which required digging down 30 feet into the courtyard’s existing foundation below the existing water table.

Ely Center of Contemporary Art

Taylor, ECOCA was home to John Slade Ely (1860-1906) and his wife, Grace Taylor Ely, who came to New Haven in 1897. Now it is one of New Haven’s premier contemporary art spaces, with a constant rotation of thought provoking and innovative art from local and national artists.
